Summertime equals heat and hard work for PCA members. And, while summer and holidays come and go our members are busy doing what they do so well: building this country, one piece, one site at a time. We are proud that PCA can work alongside our members to assist them on the big issues that matter to their important work.
Our organization continues to grow and thrive. Evidence of this growth, and the range of strength our members, was evident at our annual golf tournament held this year in St. Albert, Alberta. Special thanks goes out to McLennan Ross which provided sponsorship of the tournament, and somehow managed to ensure that we played under sunny skies.
The good spirits at the golf tournament is just a glimpse into the diverse work being done by PCA and its members across the country. PCA is recognized as a confident and capable voice which speaks to the needs of the industry in progressive and positive ways. Evidence of this work was on display as PCA Director of Operation, Merron Pearce, presented to Human Resources and Skills Development Canada on PCA’s approach and perspective on labour shortages, apprenticeship development, and productivity in the trades. The amount of questions directed at PCA by members of the standing committee indicates that government sees PCA as a leader in this industry.
PCA is found on construction sites, training programs, and other key spots in Ontario, the big sites in Saskatchewan and Alberta, and at the far west coast of BC. It is also in legislatures, in meetings with key industry players, and with those who work in government at all levels. From Sarnia to Saskatchewan, from Victoria to Fort McMurray, and beyond, PCA is helping to make this great country even better.
