PCA and CLAC Host Ontario Seminar on Rights and Obligations When MOL Comes On Site

PCA and CLAC were pleased to sponsor a recent seminar: “Ministry of Labour on Your Site? What Are Your Rights and Obligations?”. The standing-room-only session, led by Karen Fields, a Partner with the law firm Crawford, Chondon and Partners LLP, examined the various reasons why an MOL inspector may be on a site; the difference between an inspection and an investigation; what the constructor’s, employer’s, supervisor’s and worker’s rights and obligations are; understanding what a Caution is and what it means; and what to do with Orders that are left. The event was held at the CLAC headquarters in Mississauga and organized by the CLAC-PCA Sector IHSA Labour-Management Health and Safety Committee.
