Public Health and Worker Safety First Priority at PCA

The Progressive Contractors Association of Canada (PCA) stands with its member companies who employ thousands of skilled workers across Canada, in making the protection of public health and worker safety the top priority in order to stop the spread of COVID-19.

“Our focus is on ensuring workers are safe, protected and confident that all measures are being taken to keep them healthy,” said Paul de Jong, President of the Progressive Contractors Association of Canada (PCA). “Now more than ever companies and workers who are building and maintaining essential health, energy and transportation services, deserve our support.”

That support also includes the need for greater flexibility on timelines in order to deliver projects under new working conditions that include social distancing and staggered shifts.

PCA is closely monitoring directives from government and public health officials to provide its members with the resources and guidance needed to help safeguard workers through stringent protocols.

“We’re doing all we can to help those companies and workers who want to work, work safely,” added de Jong. “At the same time, we fully support and respect the choice of individual workers who choose to be home with their families.”
